NORTH CAROLINA ELKS STATE ASSOCIATION CHARITY 50/50 RAFFLE

Dear Valued Member:

During the past 10 months we have all felt and been affected in some way by the COVID-19
virus, and many of the charities we support are struggling as well and need us at this time more than ever.

For the past few years, we have supported the North Carolina State Elks Association’s
Charitable Trust. This Trust supports the many charities of this Lodge and those of the North
Carolina State Elks Association. That entity being the North Carolina Elks Charitable Trust, - a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization founded to assist North Carolina Elks with their charitable endeavors. 

Over years past, the Trust has provided funds for the NC Elks major projects. Remembering the Veterans of our Military Forces with purchasing handicap buses, televisions, power wheel chairs, comfort items, and sponsoring activities for NC State Veterans Homes. The Trust also supports “Camp Carefree” by funding scholarships for children with chronic illnesses to attend camp. In addition, each year the Trust offers Grants to North Carolina Lodges for charitable projects in their communities.

We are very proud to announce that our lodge was awarded a $1,000.00 Grant from the trust this year where we were able to Donate the Funds to Brunswick Family Assistance in order for them to purchase perishable food items to help supplement their Food Pantry for the Holidays.

Each year, at the Spring NC Elks Convention, a “Parade of Lodges” is held for Lodges to make an annual donation to this Trust. For the Calabash Lodge to participate we are initiating a fund raiser. This event will be a 50/50 Raffle, - with 50% going to the winner, and 50% going to the North Carolina Charitable Trust. The drawing will be held on April 23, 2021 during our Charitable Trust Dinner Dance. Winner need not be present to win.
