Youth Activities Committee

The mission of the Calabash Elks' Youth Activities Committee is to offer a variety of activities for young people which promote health, well-being and positive development of the children.

 

Elks believe that the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow. With that in mind, we strive to be positive role models and mentors for our youths. Through different activities and events which are supported by locally raised funds and grant monies, our goal is to educate, inspire, and motivate our local youths to become capable, and law-abiding citizens.

 

With a committee and many volunteers, we engage in a number of projects aimed at helping our youths grow up drug-free with self-confidence, community awareness, and a sense of patriotism.

 

Some of the coordinated activities include: 

• Executing the Elks National Drug Awareness Program

• Participation in the Elks National "Hoop Shoot" Free-Throw Basketball event

• Taking the Kids to local Baseball Games or to play Mini-Golf

• A safe, supervised "Trunk or Treat" Halloween event

• A Christmas party for local disadvantaged children

• Helping with funding Summer Camp for Special Need Children

• Provide Funds for College Scholarship
